Epilepsy Educator
Part Time – 22 hours per week

We are seeking an enthusiastic person to join our Launceston team to deliver services in the northern half of the State.

The Epilepsy Educator’s responsibilities will include:
• Provide up to date information, advice and support to people living with epilepsy and their families;
• Improve the community’s understanding and awareness of epilepsy by providing information sessions to schools, health care professionals and other community groups, and distributing information packages;
• Manage and/or participate in fundraising activities (eg Purple Day), promotional opportunities, and events (eg Epilepsy Camps);
• Develop inter-agency relationships;
• Supervise, train and recruit volunteers; and
• Advocacy – individual and systemic.

This role would ideally suit a health or allied health professional, or someone with experience in a similar role. Relevant formal qualifications will be well regarded and a driver’s licence is essential. The successful candidate will have excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work individually and as part of a team.
